Every Plate Tastes Like Sunday at Abuela's

We don't chase trends — we chase the flavors your grandmother swore by. Slow-braised ropa vieja, golden tostones, and café con leche strong enough to wake the dead. This is real Cuban food, made fresh daily in Fort Myers.

Fresh Every Morning

Every dish starts from scratch. Our dough, our sauces, our stocks — nothing pre-made, nothing rushed.

Family Recipes, Decades Old

Our recipes haven't changed since they arrived from Havana. That's not a gimmick — it's a promise.

Warm, No-Fuss Atmosphere

Come as you are. Good food shouldn't require a dress code or a reservation. Just show up hungry.

Community First

We've been part of Fort Myers for years — sponsoring local events, sourcing local ingredients when we can.

From Havana to Fort Myers, One Recipe at a Time

San Luis Cuban Cafe wasn't born from a business plan. It was born from a kitchen table, a cast-iron pot, and a family that believed food was the best way to say "welcome home."

When we opened our doors in Fort Myers, we knew one thing for certain: no one here should have to compromise on authenticity. You won't find fusion here. No "Cuban-inspired" shortcuts. Just the real recipes — the ones that survived the journey from Cuba and got passed down like heirlooms.

Every morning, our kitchen starts before sunrise. The ropa vieja simmers for hours. The café con leche is pulled strong. And the smell of garlic hitting hot oil? That's the first thing our guests notice when they walk in. That's the feeling we're after.
